Aspiring DJ Keeps Up with All of the Hip Hop News

My 16-year-old nephew is an aspiring disc jockey and is already accumulating quite the music collection. My nephew likes to keep up with the latest Hip Hop News and because he can speak so knowledgeably about music, he has been interviewed by professional radio disc jockeys and was recently offered a job writing music reviews for our local newspaper. The paper has allowed my nephew to put a small blurb in his articles advertising his portable DJ services and he has his first job this weekend. I know he is nervous, even though his first job is to get the music going at an eight grade school dance, but he is taking the job very seriously and we all hope it will lead to bigger and better things for him. As it is, my nephew thinks the $100 he will receive for his work is a ton of money and is already allocating some of it for new music and equipment.

Celebrating the Holidays with Jai McDowell's New CD

Television and music sensation Jai McDowell has been such an inspiration to me; I really listen to him and imagine myself as a better singer. I try to watch the way that he sings and I mimic his techniques so that I might become even better at what I do. I’m not a professional singer by any means, but he certainly is, and it’s also inspiring to see people making money and making a living off of their music; I really love that. I’ve looked up “Jai McDowell Believe” because I want to get a better sense of his new album coming out. I could not get any samples yet, but I know that I’m going to buy it and listen to it on repeat as soon as it hits the shelves. I’m glad that I’ll be able to pick up this new CD around the holidays too because I’m sure that it’s going to be appropriate for this time of year.
